Hustle Inc.
Coach Tony Ballard played Quarterback at Florida A&M University and learned the position inside and out, studying the fundamental techniques that make a Quarterback great. In the Tampa Bay area Coach Tony developed an eye for recognizing Quarterbacks, and this is where he began training young Quarterbacks. After years of experience, in Florida and Georgia, working with Quarterbacks at all levels, he founded Hustle Inc. Quarterback Academy. After several years of training Quarterbacks, Tony decided to incorporate training for skill players such as Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs and this led to the creation of Hustle Inc. Football Academy and eventually Hustle Inc. 7v7.
Having traveled around the country coaching and instructing Quarterbacks with such organizations as the Army All-American Game, Army-All American Game Combine, Football University (FBU), the National Combine, Regional Elite 11, and Under Armour Underclassmen Report to name a few, Tony recognized that there is still room for growth and improvement in Quarterback training. Capitalizing on this need, Tony has identified an opportunity to fill in the gaps with respect to Quarterback training.
In 2014, the inaugural “Golden Arm Challenge”, presented by Hustle Inc. Quarterback Academy hosted over 40 Quarterbacks from across the country in Roswell, Georgia. The first of its kind, the Golden Arm Challenge hosted aspiring Quarterbacks such as Ricky Town, De’Andre Johnson, and Lamar Jackson, current Quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens.
Tony has been featured in magazines such as Sports Illustrated and USA Today. In fact, Tony was highlighted in a 2016 USA Today article titled “How Georgia Became A Hotbed for High School Quarterbacks”. Top Quarterbacks such as Harrison Bailey and Davis Mills shared their experience working with Tony as their personal instructor beginning in the 5th grade. Bailey is quoted as stating; “He’s made me the player who I am and taught me everything I know — from my read coverages to my footwork and there have been tremendous changes. I thank him every day.” Over the past 20 years, Coach Tony has helped develop hundreds of Quarterbacks; from refining their technique in the position to teaching them the value of being a leader on the field and in the classroom. Coach Tony’s attention to detail, knowledge of the game, and the ability to translate complex techniques into an easily recognizable language, separates him from the rest. He truly believes you must be a “student of the game” first, so that you can ultimately be a “master of the game.”
The Vision
Our vision is to set the standard of excellence for high school Quarterback and skill positions training, by providing first class instruction and life skills. This training opportunity will contribute in a unique way to their development as athletes and citizens for the future.
Coach Tony has received many accolades, but of all of his accomplishments what he appreciates most is the development of his students off the field; watching them mature, and become responsible young men in their homes, their schools, and their communities. All of his Hustle Inc. programs set aside time for these young men to give back to their communities, teaching them to not only appreciate what they have, but that giving back is not just a choice, it’s a responsibility.
